We commemorate the 200th anniversary of Oberkampf's death. He was the founder of the textile manufactory in Jouy and invented Toile de Jouy. He was a proto-industrialist with a factory that employed close to 1200 workers at the most. He introduced technical breakthrough : copper plate printing, roller printing, solid green, chlorine bleach etc.

This year 1815 it is 39 years ago that Thijs van Zeventer en Arie van de Werken built a snuff windmill at the bank of the Kralingse Plas in Rotterdam. Today it is the oldest still working snuff an spices windmill in The Netherlands. The products are prepared according to historical recipes and sold all over the world.
